About me.
I am a 20 something year old half- student, half- layabout that has nothing better to do with her time apart from indulge in idle chit chat. As well as that, I am about to embark on a course in nursing somewhere in the ahem…country. I’ve had millions of crap jobs, time i started a good one. More about me can be found here.
Why “The Oracle?”
This one is simple. While I was university, I read “the Histories” by Herodotus, and in one of the stories, I believe Croesus consults the Oracle concerning whether he should attack the Persians. If anyone was interested, the famous reply was, “If you attack you will destroy a mighty empire”. (Thankyou wikipedia). An Oracle, or Oracles, is a person(s) considered to be the source of wise counsel or prophetic opinion; an infallible authority- just like me then!
Great, but why name your blog “The Oracle”?
Ah yes, sorry. I called the blog “The Oracle” because also while at university, I gave my diary the same nickname- this is also a diary, so it just stuck- like manky chewing gum to the bottom of a desk. Obviously, I am a source of infallible authority too.
Faith, thats an interesting name? Where did it come from?
Faith Walker is a psuedonym- sorry! If you know me, you’ll know who I am though. I chose this name because it was the name of the practice nurse in the daytime TV classic “Doctors”. Beginning to wish I’d chosen “Gladys Emmanuel” now- Its something I may consider changing in the future!
